One of the highlights of the visit was the introduction of the new Etive electric hearse and limousines. These vehicles represent a significant leap forward in funeral vehicle design, offering more space for mourners due to the absence of a traditional drive shaft. , The batteries of the Etive models span the entire floor, and the vehicle provides an impressive range of 280 miles on a full charge, which takes just 1.5 hours. The name “Etive” is inspired by a lush, green loch and valley in Scotland, reflecting the vehicle’s commitment to sustainability and efficiency.
The manufacturing process at the Coleman Milne factory is both meticulous and innovative. Vehicles are first stripped down, with every part labeled and placed in a box. These components stay boxed until the hearse or limousine is ready to be assembled from the donor vehicle, at which point each part is carefully reunited with its original vehicle. This methodical process ensures precision and quality in every build.
During the tour, attendees were shown the moulding area, where fibreglass units for vehicles are crafted, and the paint shop, where the secrets behind the stunning finishes on the vehicles were revealed. Adding to the excitement of the visit, attendees were given a sneak peek at the upcoming 214 Mercedes vehicles, promising a blend of luxury and functionality, expected to be completed soon.
